Ontwenningsverschijnselen na langdurig gebruik van opiaten en benzodiazepinen

Samenvatting

U kent het misschien wel, een kind heeft enkele weken op de kinder-ic aan de beademing gelegen en was gesedeerd. Er treedt verbetering op en het kind wordt geweand van de beademing. De sedativa en opiaten worden afgebouwd. De morfine wordt gestopt, maar acht uur later ziet u als ic-verpleegkundige dat het kind last heeft van zweten, tachycardie, overprikkeling en tremoren. Het lijkt dat uw patiënt aan het afkicken is, kan dat?
