Samenvatting

De instelling van de beademing bij prematuren moet gewijzigd worden om schade van de longen bij deze groep kinderen terug te dringen. Prematuren zouden met iets kleinere volumes beademd moeten worden. Het onvolledige respiratoire CO2dat daarbij vrijkomt, zou bij de behandeling op te koop toegenomen moeten worden, omdat dit een gunstig effect zou hebben op de longen.
