Summary and Conclusions

A case of squamous-cell carcinoma of the ascending colon is presented. Two similar cases have been found in an extensive review of medical literature.

What is known of the etiology of squamous-cell carcinoma arising in organs normally lined by glandular epithelium is reviewed.

The patterns of metastasis and results of treatment are reviewed and evaluated.
