Abstract

Free waves (seiches) in a circular basin of variable depth are studied numerically within the framework of the linear theory of long waves taking into account the action of the Coriolis force. We determine the frequencies of axisymmetric and circular waves, study the structure of the modes of elevation of the free surface and wave velocities, and establish the dependences of the phase velocities of circular waves on the number of mode and wavelength.
