Conclusions

Full-scale observations of the roughness coefficients for the North Donets-Donbass canal and in its siphons, carried out by Ukrgidroproekt, showed that these values varied over a rather considerable range. Even in the same reaches of the canal there is sometimes a considerable increase or decrease in the coefficients as a result of changes in the canal state (changes in the growth of aquatic vegetation, changes in the surface condition of the slopes after clearing, etc.). A significant change in the capacity of the siphons during winter was found.
