Abstract
Mössbauer parameters have been determined on119Sn in alloys with large tin concentration and in applied external field. The electric field gradient around tin is essentially positive and has a narrow distribution. Then there is a well-defined short range order in the amorphous phase. This short range order is compared with various tin sites in crystalline tin transition metal compounds.
