Effect of Heat Treatment in a Reducing Atmosphere on Absorption and Luminescence Spectra of Y2SiO5:Се Crystals

  • Published:
Inorganic Materials Aims and scope

Abstract—

We demonstrate that heat treatment of Y2SiO5:Се crystals under reducing conditions causes Ce1 luminescence centers to convert into Ce2 centers due to the removal of oxygen from the structure of the crystals and discuss the mechanism of this effect.
