Abstract
This chapter presents an overview of the creative process. First, the concept of the “creative process” is defined. Then a brief history of work on the creative process is presented. In the following section, different research methodologies used to study the creative process are illustrated. Finally, an overview of a large-scale research project that examined the creative process in visual arts, writing, science and engineering, design, and musical domains is provided.
