Abstract

The Philippines introduced radical reforms in the education sector as it joins the other nine Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries aim for global competitiveness under the ambitious ASEAN 2015 economic integration. This paper presents an argument about the continuous reforms in the Philippine higher education system. While demands for student mobility and transnational education slowly gains momentum, assurance of quality of education services remains a concern and top government priority. The expected output of these reforms will be the holistic development of the Filipino people in particular and the whole world in general.
