    Saloth Sar or Pol Pot was a Cambodian Khmer political leader. He held the chair as the Prime Minister of Democratic Kampuchea from 1975 to 1979. His radical communist ideology became a misery for the Cambodian people. It was a period of genocide in Cambodia, his government killed millions of innocent people. During his period politically Cambodia became one-party communist governed state.

    The Zone of Peace, Freedom and Neutrality (ZOPFAN) was signed by the ASEAN members in 1971. Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Philippines unitedly decided that Southeast Asia would not entertain any external interference in their regional matters. Regional cooperation was the main aim of ZOPFAN.

    South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is a regional intergovernmental organization of the South Asian nations established in 1985. The purpose of this organization is to establish socio-cultural development, prevention of drug trafficking, economic prosperity, protection of environment, child welfare, rural development, etc.
