Abstract
Comparative public administration (CPA) as a branch of public administration contributes to the field by offering comparative analysis of administrative structures, functions, processes, and institutions among countries. Due to increased globalization and transnational interactions, social and technological developments, self-reflection and theory building, demands for prescriptions and promising practices, as well as growing interests for good governance, have increased the significance and relevance of CPA after the 1990s. Nonetheless, by focusing on theory building and generalizability of findings, the unique situations in different countries may end up being disregarded. Therefore, in order to ensure that this study does not make similar mistakes, and to ensure both generalizability and the unique situations of the different countries, the authors structure the book into three main parts: conceptual, theoretical, and methodological framework of CPA, country case studies, and comparison of country cases across the globe.
