Abstract
Microstrip Patch Antennas (MPA) are progressively useful, nowadays, due to their lightweight, low profile and easy fabrication. This paper exhibit the rectangular microstrip patch antenna designs for GSM. The array of proposed patch antenna designs with size 120 × 70 × 1.67 mm is also simulated for GSM application. The resonant frequency is 1.8 GHz. In single patch antenna, the gain is less than 3 dB which is further increased to 4.26 dB by introducing more antenna elements, i.e. array concept. The gain and directivity of array antenna are 4.26 dB and 7.73 dBi, respectively. The antenna characteristics such as gain, directivity and return loss are also analysed in this work using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) software.
