Abstract

Cataract surgery is prone to capsule complications; this could be due to the preexisting defects or abnormalities in the eye of the patient, due to instrument malfunction during the surgery or even due to surgeon error [1]. In eyes with large capsule tears or severe zonular loss, IOL implantation is a challenge. In the present scenario where economic and social expectations have risen to near-perfect restoration of postcataract surgery vision, aphakia itself is considered a disease. The IOL options in eyes with compromised capsular support include anterior chamber angle-fixated IOL, iris-fixated anterior claw lenses, posterior chamber iris-sutured IOL, sutured, and sutureless scleral-fixated posterior chamber IOL. Each eye is different, and the technique employed varies based on the ocular condition and surgeon’s preference.
