Zusammenfassung
Übungen und Programme zur Förderung von Dankbarkeit finden in Forschung und Praxis zunehmend Beachtung. Sie werden meistens als positiv und angenehm wahrgenommen, sind vergleichsweise einfach zu verstehen und durchzuführen, dabei auf zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen ausgerichtet und sie lassen sich gut mit anderen therapeutischen Maßnahmen kombinieren. Im ersten Teil des Kapitels werden aktuelle Fragen zur Definition von Dankbarkeit skizziert. Die Positive Psychologie, die Psychologie der Wertschätzung, neuere beziehungsorientierte Therapieansätze sowie die ressourcenorientierte Psychotherapie bieten Möglichkeiten der Verortung von Dankbarkeit.
Im zweiten Teil wird mit Blick auf Indikationen ein Fallbeispiel gegeben und es werden transdiagnostische Therapien, Depression und Angststörungen, Traumfolgestörung, psychische Gesundheit bei chronischen körperlichen Erkrankungen, Alterspsychotherapie und das Ende des Lebens als mögliche Einsatzfelder vorgestellt. Es folgt eine Einführung zum Dankbarkeitstagebuch, Dankbarkeitsbrief und -besuch als den bekanntesten Übungen. Ausführlicher wird das GET.ON Dankbarkeitstraining vorgestellt, ein umfassendes Programm insbesondere für Menschen, die zum Sorgen und Grübeln neigen. Abschließend wird auf therapeutische Herausforderungen bei der Förderung von Dankbarkeit eingegangen.
