Abstract
The tonsils are known to demonstrate avid FDG uptake, especially in pediatric and adolescent patients, with mean SUV ranging from 3 to 5. Indeterminate foci of increased uptake may become more worrisome if associated with mass-like appearance or focal asymmetry on PET/MR imaging.
