Abstract
Laparoscopic splenectomy is commonly performed for various disorders of the spleen and is the operation of choice for elective cases. The indications for laparoscopic splenectomy are similar to that for open splenectomy. This chapter describes indications, essential steps, variations, and complications of this procedure. It provides a detailed template operative note for the procedure.
