Abstract
We present a demonstration of Loose Ends, a mixed-initiative creative interface for playful storytelling that assists players in managing plot threads to achieve storytelling goals related to high-level story structure. From a design perspective, Loose Ends is an example of a narrative instrument: an expression-oriented playable system that can be played to produce narrative, in much the same way that musical instruments are played to produce music.
