Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is one of the leading chronic metabolic syndromes, which consists of many complications and risk factors, and the condition of hyperglycaemia leads to other organs to dysfunction. Despite the new modalities available in diabetes management, the effective therapeutic drug delivery is an actual threat faced in the current scenario. There exist many threats in the drug delivery system from powder mixtures to capsules of medicine in the management of diabetes. The drug delivery system is a major target for exaggerated therapeutic approach with lesser toxicity and side effects. In recent days, the breakthrough of advancements in the field of science and technology is refined to the novel drug delivery system with the synthesis of nanoemulsions in maintaining the complexity of diabetes.

The blend of nanotechnology in the drug delivery system with the nanoemulsion (NE) formulations is widely noted as safe on account of its greater advantages such as good stability, bioavailability of drugs, and preventing the hydrolysis of drugs, which in turn acts as a good transporter of the drug particle. With the aforementioned information, this chapter reviews the potent curative drug delivery on various nanoemulsion formulations in managing diabetes mellitus.
