Abstract
The question of this article is the increase of efficiency of power transformers cooling systems with significant long and short-term overloads. The data presented the causes of failures of transformers of different voltage classes and different periods of operation. It is revealed that one of the main causes of transformers failure is the ineffectiveness of the oil cooling system during the summer operation period and with short-term but significant overloads. To improve the efficiency of the cooling system of power transformers, the authors propose to implement mixing cooling oil circulating sulfur hexafluoride and subsequent cooling of the sulfur hexafluoride thermoelectric refrigerator. Laboratory experiments were carried out which confirm the effectiveness of the method. The design of the proposed laboratory setup is described in detail. Stamps of the thermocouple and the brand of the compressor and an analog-to-digital are also selected. Due to the fact that the device does not require regular replacement of consumable parts, and also does not require periodic maintenance, the system is maintenance-free.
