Alopecia areata is driven by cytotoxic T lymphocytes and is reversed by JAK inhibition
Cytotoxic T cells are necessary and sufficient for the development of alopecia areata in mice, while JAK inhibition promotes regrowth of hair in patients and mice with established disease.
