From the French cooperative study (300 cases in October 1978) 76 cases of TIA or PRIND were collected. Sixty-three cases only were included in this review: 60 men, 3 women—mean age 55—(from 26 to 71 years).

Angiographic features of the cortical extra- intracranial anastomosis
We have operated on 25 patients, most received a superficial-temporal-artery—middle-cerebral-artery (STA)-(MCA) anastomosis. In three patients an occipital-artery—MCA anastomosis was performed.(2,3,7)
