It is a theoretical perspective that the genesis and development of human psychology and the formation of behavioral habits are determined by environmental factors. It is one of the main perspectives on children’s psychological development in the West, which emerged in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century, and its representative figure is the American psychologist John Broadus Watson (1878–1958). According to environmentalism, individuals are products of their environment, and differences among individuals are shaped by environmental influences. Environment determines the development process and level of individuals, environment is the decisive factor for the generation and change of individual psychology and behavior, and controlling environment means controlling the behavior of an individual.
