Abstract

Dehiscence and fistula formation are the most common mid- to long-term complications after palate repair. Various factors account for these unwanted sequelae of palate repair. This chapter focusses on those factors that may cause dehiscence and fistula, and also what consequences they may have on the long-term outcome of the palatoplasty. A brief note on the prevention aspect will also be presented to avoid these complications.
