Surgical Atlas of Cleft Palate and Palatal Fistulae

Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to underline our young surgeon’s learning process in training of cleft palate procedure. The objectives are the complete knowledge pertaining to the cases of cleft lip and palate from birth to adulthood, and to understand and execute the procedure in a proper way. The idea is to take the young surgeons from day 1 along a path of learning modules over a period of many months: anatomy, physiology, surgical anatomy, and surgical mastery. The surgeons should be trained to handle all routine cases of cleft palate whether primary or secondary palate cases. Surgeons should be doing cases independently during the late phase of training module.
