Abstract

In this paper, a novel light-emitting liquid crystal molecule was designed and synthesized using benzophenanthrene and tetraphenylene as the base unit by linking flexible alkoxy chains. The structures of the synthesized molecules were confirmed by nuclear magnetic hydrogen spectroscopy (1HNMR), infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and ultraviolet spectroscopy (UV-VIS). The liquid crystal properties and phase structures of the synthesized target molecules and doped systems were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarized light microscopy (POM). The aggregation-induced luminescence properties were judged by observing the luminescence intensity under UV lamp by being in different ratios of tetrahydrofuran-water solvents. Useful information is provided for organic optoelectronic applications.
