EOR Potential Evaluation Method Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process

Abstract

When mature fields enter their later development stage, a high water cut leads to a decrease in oilfield production and an increase in exploration difficulty. Such conditions aggravate the contradiction between oil supply and demand in China. Many evaluations of the enhanced oil recovery (EOR) potential in China has shown an enhanced recovery would considerably increase recoverable reserves. Since oilfields include many blocks, the EOR potential of each of these blocks should be evaluated by using a fast and reliable evaluation model. In this paper, we propose an EOR potential evaluation method based on an analytic hierarchy process weighting method. Hence, we evaluated the development potential of different EOR methods in block A of the Daqing oilfield and selected the most appropriate for oilfield exploitation.
