Abstract

The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution (hereinafter referred to as the “Cultural Revolution”), also known as the “Ten-Year Catastrophe,” took place in the People’s Republic of China during the decade from 1966, with the publication of the May 16 Notification to the death of Mao Zedong and the crackdown of the Gang of Four in October 1976.
