Abstract

In the case of on-site cable maintenance after failure and malfunction, the temperature, humidity and gas content inside cable well are monitored to ensure the safety of operators. The ZigBee technology is known as a short distance wireless communication technology communication with high efficiency, simple module structure, low energy consumption, economic and safe performance. The cable pit monitoring and early warning system were studied, based on which a set of cable pit monitoring and early warning system was designed; ZigBee module CC2530 single-chip microcomputer and corresponding sensors were introduced in such system to monitor the environment temperature, cable insulation skin humidity and cable pit of poisonous and harmful and flammable gas concentration in cable pit; the monitoring data were wirelessly transmitted to the upper computer through ZigBee module for early warning to meet the requirement for the early warning of cable failure and personnel protection inside cable well.
