Abstract
The gears are currently develo** towards high-speed, lightweight, high-power-density and low-noise as an indispensable component in the transmission system. However, due to machining errors, meshing rigidity and impact, the vibration not only leads to the instability of the transmission system, but also accelerates the fatigue damage and results in serious consequences. Numerous researchers have proposed various solutions faced with such a huge challenge. Hence, it is necessary to review the previous methods of vibration suppression. In this paper, the common methods of gear vibration control are reviewed. First of all, the characteristics such as ring damper and squeeze film damper are discussed through the in-depth analysis of passive control methods. Besides, the feasibility and limitations of semi-active and active control are revealed from the view of actuator and algorithm. Eventually, the future development trend of vibration control methods is forecasted in order to provide inspiration for application of gear vibration reduction in the future.
