Summary of background data

There are several surgical techniques to treat thoracic disc herniation. Mini-thoracotomy and microdiscectomy are indicated in central disc herniation with or without calcification. It offers safe decompression with less morbidity.

Mini-thoracotomy and microscopic discectomy without fusion is a good treatment option for centrally herniated thoracic disc.
