A High-Performance Synchronous Energy-Saving Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract

Time synchronization technology is an important prerequisite for effective application of wireless sensor networks, and provides basic services for multiple application services. However, due to the complexity of the network environment, it is difficult to meet the different applications of the time synchronization mechanism in practical applications. In this paper, based on the characteristics of the wireless sensor network and the application of the related time synchronization technology, a new high-performance synchronous energy-saving algorithm is proposed on the basis of the existing technical achievements. This algorithm synthetically considers the residual energy level and node degree of the child nodes, and optimizes the selection process of the reference nodes, thus reducing and balancing the energy consumption between the nodes and effectively prolonging the network life. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the algorithm.
