Abstract

In this work, the experimental data of phase equilibria of the RE–Nd (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Y) binary systems in the published literature were investigated firstly, and then the RE–Nd (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Y) binary systems were calculated using the CALPHAD method. The calculation results were compared with the experiment data. The phase diagrams of RE–Nd (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Y) systems could provides important information for the design of novel Nd–Fe–B-based permanent magnets with rare earth elements.
