Abstract
Accretion disks are considered to be central to the formation of stars and planetary systems. While the evidence for disks around young stars is compelling, it is largely indirect, and most disk properties are inferred by modeling broadband spectral energy distributions. It is clearly important to establish kinematic evidence for disks and to identify useful spectroscopic measures of their physical properties. Towards such goals, we have been using high-resolution infrared spectroscopy to study the circumstellar environment of young stellar objects (YSOs). Results of our study of the CO overtone emission in several young stars are presented.
