Abstract
Up until this chapter we have been primarily concerned with discussing the behaviour of individual systems in the body. This is clearly an oversimplified and artificial way of looking at things for in the normal individual all the systems work closely together for the good of the whole. In this chapter we shall be considering various situations in which the physiology must be considered in terms of the responses of the whole body.
