Abstract
In this chapter I will discuss the idea of introducing more than two truth-values into the semantics for a logic. First I will present the motivation for taking more than two truth-values and explain how it can be understood in terms of paying attention to different aspects of propositions. I will then give several examples of semantics which use truth-tables with more than two values, as well applications to the study of some logics presented in earlier chapters. I also include a general definition of many-valued logics (§B) for reference.
