Samenvatting
Tromboflebitis is een trombose in een oppervlakkig verlopende ader en gaat gepaard met ontstekingsverschijnselen. Zeer waarschijnlijk is het trombotisch proces primair en kan naar analogie van het begrip ‘diep veneuze trombose’ (DVT) beter worden gesproken van ‘oppervlakkig veneuze trombose’ (OVT).
