Abstract
This chapter covers data in business processes and business decision modelling. The role of data objects in BPMN and their relationships to data models, such as UML class diagrams, are investigated. Once we have a clear understanding of data in business processes, the Decision Model and Notation (DMN) is introduced. DMN allows us to represent business decisions on different levels of abstraction, focusing on the structure of decisions and on decision logic, respectively. Decision tables are investigated in detail, since these allow us to express decision logic in a formally precise, yet well understandable manner.
