Abstract
HLA-DP, one of the class II complexes, had been originally typed only by the PLT method using cellular reagents (since 1980). Now, it can be defined by RFLP, but not by serologic methods. Strong secondary and weak primary proliferation responses were identified by Mawas (1), Wank (2), and Shaw (3), who classified them as SB antigens (SB1-5), and were officially designated by the 9th International Histocompatibility Workshop in 1984.
