Combining Information from Direct and Indirect Searches for WIMPs

Abstract

Present results of WIMP search experiments are discussed in the light of an interpretation in terms of relic neutralinos. The set of susy configurations, which are compatible with an annual-modulation effect recently evidenced in a direct WIMP experiment, are analysed in terms of possible indirect signatures, such as low-energy antiprotons in space and high-energy neutrinos from the Earth and the Sun. It is shown that the constraints due to present results of indirect measurements only mildly depopulate the original set of susy configurations singled out by the direct search results. Most noticeably, this set remains widely compatible with a neutralino as a dominant component of cold dark matter.

This report is based on work done in collaboration with F. Donato, N. Fornengo and S. Scopel.
