Notes

  1. 1.

After coding, the number of stories slightly decreased to 1,769.

  2. 2.

The detailed definitions for the multimedia flows are stated in the Codebook in Appendix 3 in the ESM.

  3. 3.

While the element text was included as element when sampling the stories, it is not included when assessing the number of different media elements here.

  4. 4.

The definitions of these expressions are stated within the Codebook in Appendix 3 in the ESM.

  5. 5.

These stories have the rare constellation of high selectivity, low multimedia, and low interactivity, being linear in nature and inverted pyramid in style.
