CT Examinations of Lung Ventilation with Stable Xenon

Abstract

CT diagnosis of lung morphology often correlates poorly with clinical findings and lung function test results. Stable xenon constitutes an inhalation contrast medium for CT which allows assessing lung ventilation both in a quantitative and a qualitative manner. We describe the method and report on our first clinical results.
