Summary

This paper presents a mixing method of finite integral and finite difference to analyse the structure of saddle cable net roofs. In the governing differential equations the vertical displacement W and its first derivative are changed into a function of the second derivative. The derivative of cable net joint’s vertical coordinate Z can be expressed by finite difference. Thus the differential equations of cable net can be changed into algebraic simultaneous equations, which can be solved by iteration.
