Summary
A method to analyze color in scanned images of panoptically stained blood cells, as observed in a light microscope, is described. The substantial improvement in both the scene segmentation of the cell components and the subsequent cell classification is archieved using at least two different monochromatic scans in the visual spectrum and a coordinate transformation. The results correlate directly to the well-known visual hematological diagnostic information.
