Abstract
The purpose of this work is to examine the qualitative morphologic findings on cat carotid body by means of quantitative data obtained from histologic and electron-microscopic studies. Combined with physiological and biochemical values, these data could increase understanding of the structure and function of the carotid body, especially as regards its oxygen consumption.
