Zusammenfassung

Bereits in den 50er Jahren begann man Harnspeicherstörungen und Blasenentleerungsstörungen mit Hilfe elektrischer Stimulationsverfahren zu behandeln. Zur Therapie der Detrusorhypo- oder -atonie führte Katona 1959 [31] die transurethrale intravesikale Elektrotherapie ein. Andere Autoren versuchten, bei der gleichen Funktionsstörung eine Miktion durch direkt am Detrusor implantierte Elektroden zu erzielen [5, 24, 28, 29, 30, 58], oder streßinkontinente Patienten mit im Beckenboden implantierten Stimulationselektroden zu behandeln [1, 8, 9, 11]. Wegen Migration und Fibrosierung der Elektroden sowie einer unkontrollierten Stromausbreitung konnte sich die direkte Implantation von Elektroden am Erfolgsorgan nicht durchsetzen, während die von Katona beschriebene Methode der intravesikalen Stimulation bei erhaltener Sensibilität der Blase auch heute noch bei Blasenentleerungsstörungen erfolgreich durchgeführt wird.
