Abstract
Since endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) was introduced more than 15 years ago, this modality has become established as a highly accurate means of staging gastrointestinal and pancreatic malignancies. Recent technological advancements have overcome some of the initial limitations of EUS and introduced a growing list of potential therapeutic applications. Thus, EUS is beginning to find a niche in the armamentarium of minimally-invasive interventional techniques.
