Zusammenfassung

Die medizinisch-diagnostischen Ultraschallverfahren beruhen auf der Aussendung und Reflexion von Ultraschallwellen. Sie werden durch einen piezoelektrischen Kristall erzeugt, über ein schalleitendes Medium ausgesandt, an Grenzflächen reflektiert, gebrochen, gestreut und absorbiert. Der auch als Schallempfänger fungierende piezoelektrische Kristall nimmt die modulierten Ultraschallwellen wieder auf (reziproker piezoelektrischer Effekt). Nach Umwandlung in ein elektrisches Signal werden sie im zeitlichen Verlauf sowie in ihrer Intensität durch einen Oszillographen bildlich dargestellt.
