Abstract
In this note the following assumptions are introduced:
-
I.
That Navier-Stokes equations may be applied to the study of shear-flow turbulence.
-
II.
That steady-state turbulent flows exist.
In the paper read at the Symposium with the title: “On the foundation of a mathematical theory of shear-flow turbulence” there was an error which was kindly pointed out by Prof. C. C. Lin and by Prof. Kaipé De Fériet. The present note therefore differs from the paper read at the Symposium.
