Zusammenfassung
Dieses Kapitel wird skizzieren, wie Reflektierende Zielsetzung verwendet werden kann, um das akademische Wachstum und die Leistung von Universitätsstudenten zu verbessern. Die in diesem Kapitel detailliert beschriebenen Erfahrungen der Studenten hatten das semesterlange Modul, Fortgeschrittene zwischenmenschliche Fähigkeiten, besucht, das früher im Buch skizziert wurde. Dies entsprach einem fünfzehnwöchigen Zeitraum der Reflektierenden Zielsetzung. Eine Reihe von Einflussfaktoren, wie z. B. spezifische Ziele für das akademische Wachstum und Schlüsselelemente des Modells selbst, werden angesprochen. Ein interessanter Befund ist, dass im Gegensatz zur traditionellen Zielsetzungstheorie, Studenten unspezifische Effekte von allgemeinen persönlichen Entwicklungszielen erfahren, wenn sie ihre akademische Leistung verbessern.
