Mastering Endovascular Techniques

Abstract

We describe a case of hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia where embolization of a pulmonary arteriovenous malformation with micro-coils was performed. The embolization technique that was implemented was initial scaffolding and then packing among the scaffold coils. The chapter also offers an overview of indications for embolization, a pre-interventional checklist, the most common embolization materials, techniques and potential complications. A basic suggested toolkit is also included at the end of the chapter.
